Question about Watering the tree.

Street trees have limited soil and nutrients due to their confined spaces making mulching essential.

Weeding and Mulching Instructions:
  • Remove turf grass and weeds completely, including the roots to prevent regrowth.
  • Apply mulch in a donut shape around the tree using materials like shredded bark, leaves, or composted wood chips.
  • Keep the mulch 3-4 inches high. More than this can restrict oxygen and moisture to the roots.
  • Ensure the tree trunk does not touch the mulch to prevent bark decay. A 2-3 inch mulch-free area around the trunk is ideal.
